Hydroseeding
Hydroseeding is a sprayed slurry of grass seed, wood mulch, fertilizer and tackifier applied in one pass with a hose. The mulch holds moisture right against the seed and the tackifier glues the whole mat to the soil, so seed doesn't wash off or blow away like it does with dry seeding. You see green mulch coverage the same day, germination usually starts in 7–14 days, and you have a usable lawn in about 4–6 weeks. It runs roughly a fifth the cost of sod, covers large or sloped ground quickly, and lets us match the seed blend to your exact site — sun, shade, sand or clay — which is why it holds up so well on North-Central Minnesota properties.
